Now is the perfect time to spot the New Forest Pony foals and baby donkeys. A beautiful sight and there will be some great photo opportunities.

Summer is full of beautiful, vibrant colour and the thickets of gorse are no exception. You can’t mistake the bright yellow petals and the distinctive coconut aroma. The gorse is looking spectacular at the moment and the peak season only runs until the end of June.

There are many picturesque places to visit in the New Forest so there are plenty of opportunities to pack up the picnic basket, take a stroll and rest for some light lunch.
Our recommendation is visiting Exbury Gardens. At this time of year you can see their world-famous collection of colourful azaleas and rhododendrons. Exbury Gardens is dog friendly and has a playground and miniature steam railway making it a great family day out.
