Winter adventures in the New Forest
As well as the amazing walking routes you can take, why not book onto some of the New Forest’s other outdoor activities?
Take a guided cycle ride with New Forest Cycle Tours, try your hand at archery, axe-throwing and cross-bows with Insight Activities or paddle with Santa along the Beaulieu River on a tour with New Forest Activities.
There’s bike hire available at several spots in the forest, including down the road from Pinewood Cottage in Lyndhurst.
Places to escape to on those colder days
If the weather’s not playing ball then you can find some great days out that are within a short reach of our cottage. Beaulieu is home to the National Motor Museum, with fascinating exhibits of cars and other motoring memorabilia from across the years.
Pop along to Lymington and top by at the St Barbe Art Gallery & Museum, with its changing exhibits.
Do some pre-Christmas shopping or after-Christmas sales shopping at Ringwood’s Furlong Centre or travel slightly further into Southampton’s Westquay Shopping Centre with its flagship John Lewis and M&S stores.
Plus, be sure to look out for events taking place at some of the New Forest’s arts venues including Forest Arts Centre.
Feast on some tasty local fare
Head to one of the New Forest’s pubs for some traditional pub dishes. Warm yourselves up by a roaring log fire and relax. Do get in touch with us if you’d like to know some of our guests’ favourite spots.
